Overview:-
The Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology (MEXT) of Japan offers scholarships to international students who wish to study at Japanese universities as Undergraduate Students under the Japanese Government (MEXT) Scholarship Program.
Field of Study:-
Those who apply for an undergraduate student must choose a “Field of Study (“Social Sciences and Humanities” or “Natural Sciences”), “Course”, and “Major(s)” from the below table. Applicants may enter a first, second, and third choice.

- A 1. Law 2. Politics 3. Pedagogy 4. Sociology 5. Literature 6. History 7. Japanese Language 8. Others (excluding “1. Economics”, “2. Business Administration” and “3.Others” in Humanities B.) Social Sciences and Humanities – B 1. Economics 2. Business Administration 3.Others (Accounting, Financial economics, etc.) (Note) Applicants who choose “8. Others” may have difficulties in finding universities that can accept them depending on their majors

Application Guidelines/Procedure:-
- Required Documents
- The following documents (in given order) should be submitted before the deadline:
- Mark Sheet Form
- Application Form (1 original)
- Academic detail Mark sheet of Secondary and Higher Secondary School: (Matric/O Levels, Intermediate/A Levels) (1 with original attestation)
- Applicants must submit the following documents according to his/her academic background:
- (a) Applicants who are attending, or have graduated from, a higher secondary school: an academic transcript from the higher secondary school;
- (b) Applicants who are attending, or have already graduated from, a university: academic transcripts from both the higher secondary school and the university.
- Attested copy of certificate of graduation of school/university attended (1 with original attestation)
- Applicants must submit the following documents according to his/her academic background:
- (a) Applicants who are attending a higher secondary school: a certificate of prospective graduation from the higher secondary school;
- (b) Applicants who have already graduated from a higher secondary school: a certificate of graduation from the higher secondary school;
- (c) Applicants who are attending a university: a certificate of graduation from the higher secondary school (in addition, they must submit a certificate of enrollment.);
- (d) Applicants who have already graduated from a university: certificates of graduation from both the higher secondary school and the university.
- Recommendation Letter from either a class teacher or principal of last school attended (1 original)
- Attested copy of Certificate of enrollment from current educational institution (if applicable) (1 original)
- Hope certificate issued by the Institute (for students whose final result is expected by August 2023) (1 with original attestation)
- NOTE:
- Submitted documents will not be returned.
- Application should be unstapled (assembled with paper clip) and printed on A4 size paper.
- Certificates & documents, other than those mentioned above, will not be considered.
- In principle, applicants should be willing to carry out their academic studies in Japan in Japanese.
