Introduction:

Are you a woman with a bachelor’s degree in a STEM subject and passionate about your study? You could receive a scholarship to study for a master’s degree in a science, technology, engineering, or mathematics program at a leading UK university. So British Council women in STEM scholarship is for you.

Globally, female students’ enrolment is particularly low in Information and Communications Technology (three per cent), natural science, mathematics and statistics (five per cent), and engineering, manufacturing and construction (eight per cent). Educating, training, and hiring more women in STEM can lead to better scientific and financial outcomes, increasing diversity in the workforce, bringing variety in perspectives and ideas and giving organizations a competitive edge.

For the fourth year running the British Council is launching our global Women in STEM scholarship program in partnership with UK universities. This is the fourth year that the scholarship has been launched. They are looking for women with a STEM background who can demonstrate their need for financial support and who wish to inspire future generations of women to pursue careers in STEM.

About British Council Women in STEM Scholarship 2024:

This year 2024 several British Council Women in STEM Scholarship will be awarded to the women of different regions. Theses scholarships are fully funded and covers all your expenses. List of regions and allocated universities are given below.

Eligibility:

To be Eligible for British Council Women in STEM Scholarship 2024 you have to fulfill the below criteria:

  • Ready to take up a course of study in the UK for the academic year from September/October 2024–2025.
  • Have a need for financial support.
  • Have a relevant undergraduate degree.
  • Can attain the level of English required for postgraduate study at a UK university.
  • Have work experience or a proven interest in their subject area. 
  • Willing to engage as committed British Council scholarship alumni. 
  • Dual Nationals are not eligible.
  • Any recent or former employee of British council are also not eligible.
  • Have studying or studied in any UK university on UK government scholarship.

How to Apply . . ?

You have to through your respective selected institution. You can apply in more than one university. you have to fulfill the eligibility criteria of selected universities. If you face any any issue during application process Email at the below ID.

FAQ’s:

  • 1.How long will the University take to respond since the process says we need to apply for admission first and then for the Scholarship?

This depends on each university. Please contact the university to ask them about their specific process and timelines.

  • Am I eligible to apply for any post graduate degrees (at the listed universities) with 14 years of education and around 13 years of professional experience in various industries?

There is no time limit on this. You must be able to demonstrate a career interest in STEM, financial need, and academic ability.

  • Can I apply to more than one University listed on your website?

Yes, you can apply to more than one university. If you are recommended for a scholarship at more than one university, the review panel will make the final decision on your allocation.

  • Where is ODA funding coming from?

“British Council Scholarships for Women in STEM” and “ASEAN-UK SAGE Women in STEM Scholarships” are funded by FCDO funds for ODA countries. Therefore, this program follows FCDO guidelines regarding eligibility criteria and type of master’s programs.

  • How can I demonstrate case for financial support? What evidence should I provide?

We are not looking for financial statements as evidence which should prove that an applicant is in financial need. The universities will assess CVs and personal statements to identify the STEM career path of an applicant, and the likelihood that this is a first international study experience with no means of self-funding the degree.

This British Council Women in STEM Scholarship is for upcoming Session of 2024-2025 but you have to check the application deadline of selected university.
