Introduction:

The University of Dayton (UD) is a private Roman Catholic research university in Dayton, Ohio, United States. It was founded in 1850 by the Society of Mary (Marianists), making it one of the oldest Catholic universities in the United States. The campus of the University of Dayton is located in the historic neighborhood of Dayton, providing students with a vibrant and close-knit community environment. Every year university of Dayton announces multiple scholarships ” University of Dayton USA Scholarships ” for national and international students. The University invests $232 million in our students each year through generous  financial aid awards. More than 96% of our students receive financial assistance including  scholarships, grants , educational loans and part-time work study. Students can study in UD on Partial or full scholarship depending upon scholarship type . Different type of scholarship offer by university in 2024 are discuss below one by one:

1.Research Scholarship or Assistantship:

The University of Dayton offers a limited number of assistantships for certain graduate and doctoral academic programs. Teaching and research assistantships may provide tuition, a monthly stipend, and/or assistance with housing costs.

Students must work directly with the academic department for consideration. Please locate your intended academic program on our website. The department’s website may indicate if assistantships are available and the process to apply. The Office of Recruitment and Admission is not involv in the application or decision process for departmental assistantships.

2.Summer Scholarships:

MPOWER will be awarding $8,000 USD this summer to support 12 international students in funding their educational dreams. On the first day of every month this summer, head to MPOWER’s website to find out the scholarship theme for that month. Applications will be open until the last Friday of the month.

3.Student Employment Opportunities

All University of Dayton students may apply for employment opportunities on campus. Positions are available in many departments and the hourly rate is based on experience and job description. Additional information regarding our student employment program can be seen on the Career Services website.

4.EducationUSA :

EducationUSA is a U.S. State Department network of over 430 international student advising centers in more than 175 countries and territories. 5.American organization:

Students living in a member country of the Organization of American States may be eligible for interest-free loans up to $15,000 USD towards the cost of their U.S. higher education. The Organization of American States includes many countries in Latin America and the Caribbean. Please visit https://www.oas.org/en/rowefund/ to verify your country is a member and to learn more about the loan opportunity.

6. Student Loans:

Student loans should be consider as a last resort after all other financial assistance opportunities have been explored. This option may help bridge the gap between the cost of your education after any scholarship awards have been received and what you and your family are able to pay towards the remaining cost. You must apply for loans from financial institutions in your home country.

7. Merit Scholarships for Undergraduates:

To reward your hard work, the University offers merit scholarships, worth up to $31,000 per year for four years, when you apply. Full-time transfer students are also eligible for a $16,000 scholarship per year, Academic Excellence Awards and more.

You will automatically be consider for a merit scholarship as part of the admission process. Merit scholarships are awarded based on a variety of criteria including GPA, test scores (if submitted) and academic rigor. To determine your scholarship eligibility, simply apply for admission; there is no application fee.

First-year Merit Scholarships:

  • Father Chaminade Award
    $17,000 to $19,000 per year
  • Dean’s Merit Scholarship
    $21,000 to $23,000 per year
  • President’s Merit Scholarship
    $25,000 to $27,000 per year
  • Trustees’ Merit Scholarship
    $29,000 to $31,000 per year

  • Official high school transcript
  • Official ACT and/or SAT scores, if desired. The University of Dayton is test-optional in admission.
