Chang Gang University Scholarships 2024-2024:

Every year Chang Gang University offers scholarships for international students. These scholarships are offer to applicants continuing their Bachelor, Masters and PhD degrees. Chang Gang University offers multiple scholarships , each one is discussed below one by one:

1.CGU Scholarships for International Undergraduate Students:

International students who have been enroll at CGU for more than one semester may apply. This scholarship is awarded on the basis of academic performance in the previous semester.

  • 1st Prize: NT$10,000
  • 2nd Prize: NT$7,000
  • 3rd Prize: NT$4,000
  •  Number of places:3 to 6 students per class cohort in each program (subject to class cohort size and related regulations)

2. CGU Scholarships for International Master’s Students:

 The award (based on a 2-year maximum) includes:

Scheme 1: fully sponsored by CGU

  1. Tuition Waiver: an amount equivalent to the tuition and miscellaneous fees or credit fees
  2. Free on-campus accommodation (quad room)
  3. Monthly stipend: NT$6,000
  4. Opportunity for extra monthly stipend up to NT$12,000 per month

Scheme 2: fully sponsored by both potential supervisor and CGU

  1. Tuition Waiver: an amount equivalent to the tuition and miscellaneous fees or credit fees
  2. Free on-campus accommodation (quad room)
  3. Part-time research assistantship: NT$6,000
  4. Opportunity for extra monthly stipend up to NT$12,000 per month

*The tuition waiver will only be offer after the potential advisor agrees to offer you the part-time research assistantship. Therefore, we recommend that you contact your potential advisor regarding the part-time research assistantship before the admission application ends.

Benefits:

  • An amount equivalent to the tuition and miscellaneous fees or credit fees
  • Monthly stipend: NT$6,000

3.CGU Scholarships for International Doctoral Students (2023-2024 intake)

  •  The award (based on a 4-year maximum) includes:
    1. Monthly stipend: NT$30,000 (50% supported by advisor and 50% matching from CGU)
    2. Extra scholarship for outstanding students up to NT$12,000 per month

Benefits:

  • Monthly stipend: NT$30,000.

Program requirements:

  • Passing the evaluation from academic advisor.
  • Taking the required Chinese courses in the first year.
  • Attaining an overall average grade of 80% or above in each semester.
  • Passing the qualifying examination for doctoral candidacy before the start of the third year of study.

4.Taiwan Government Scholarships:

There are scholarships offer by different government agencies of Taiwan:

  • MOE (Ministry of Education) Taiwan Scholarship
  • MOFA (Ministry of Foreign Affairs) Taiwan Scholarship
  •  Application period:February 1 to March 31 each year

International students must apply for these scholarships via the nearest Taiwan Embassy or Representative Office in their home country. Taiwan Scholarship recipient cannot be in simultaneous receipt of any other award or subsidy from any Taiwan Government institution (organization) or any education institution in Taiwan.

5.Teaching or Research Assistantships:

International students studying at CGU may apply for teaching assistant (TA) or research assistant (RA) positions and receive salaries as a way of funding.

Salaries:

  • RA positions for students in master’s programs: NT$4,000 – 12,000 per month
  • RA positions for students in doctoral programs: NT$8,000 – 24,000 per month
  • TA positions: NT$8,000 – 10,000 per month
